Medical care

Admission to a nursing home can be a stressful experience for the individual. We understand this and aim to make the process as stress-free as possible. Continuity of care and familiar faces also help to ease this stress and are important for every resident’s wellbeing. Wherever possible, if it is the resident’s wish, he or she continues to use their GP of choice. Should other services be required, for example optometry, dentistry, physiotherapy, chiropody and audiology, these are arranged in consultation with the GP.

Up-to-date details of any medication required are recorded in the resident’s care plan. Medication is administered as necessary by nursing staff.

We have a relationship with an external pharmacist who visits the home on a regular basis. He audits our medicines procedures and keeps us up-to-date with the latest pharmaceutical recommendations.
